The University of Brighton, Eastbourne Campus is looking for a Chef to join our student-focused Food on Campus team.   We are looking for a team member with strong craft skills and excellent communication skills to thrive within our innovative food outlets whilst enhancing the student experience.

You will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of the cooked to order lunchtime service ensuring that the high quality is maintained and that we are providing the best student experience possible.  Duties will include the preparation, cooking and service of the set lunchtime menu to the high standards that are expected, meeting a wide variety of dietary requirements, placing orders through our online portal, putting away deliveries and ensuring the university policies & procedures are followed at all times. The ability and aptitude to work in a busy customer-facing role is essential, as is the ability to communicate well with customers in order to provide a high-quality service. 

Previous experience in a similar role is essential. A current Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable, although training can be given

This post is a fixed-term post to cover shared parental leave.  The hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday, 08:30 – 16:00 Friday although a degree of flexibility will be required for any special events.

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships 

This is a grant-funded scheme which enables companies to access resources and expertise they need to innovate, grow and improve their performance.
