Alternative Airlines is a fast growing Online Travel Agent. We have built a strong online presence,, with an ultra-quick flight booking capability and an expanding, global customer base of delighted consumers.

With a new customer-focused approach to a huge, well-established market for air travel, the organisation has built a reputation for innovation, attention to detail and doing things differently.

Alternative Airlines enjoyed a period of high growth with yearly growth rates of 86% from £2.9m to £19.0m from 2016 to 2019. Whilst demand for air travel is currently reduced, Alternative Airlines continues to grow driven by its strongly performing US business and is on track to generate £27m in 2021. We are targeting £100m revenue by 2023.

Due to our continuous growth, we have created another opportunity to join our growing finance department at Alternative Airlines, and we are now looking for Senior Finance Executive to join the team.

The Role:

The Senior Finance Executive role will focus on the preparation of data to enhance our analytical review of high volume, multi-currency sales transactions.

We need strong excel skills, a passion for improvement and change, and a dedication to finding the best way of working with ever increasing amounts of financial data. As we continue to innovate and establish new partnerships which allow us to reach new markets, your ideas will be key to working efficiently to accurately report our sales.

Key Responsibilities:

● Importing, downloading, and manipulating large volumes of multi-currency transactional data, from internal and external sources

● Collating a high level of daily, weekly, and monthly financial data for both sales and costs

● Assessing the quality of data received by the finance team to validate financial information from our payment partners and our internal reports

● Provide the source data tools for revenue analysis, reviewing and revising for growth and improvements

● Support the weekly revenue recognition process

● Test data from our portal reporting and from new payment partners

● Analyse data and reports to identify opportunities and areas for development

● Assist with the processing and posting of revenue and cost accounting entries

Candidate Specification:

● Part Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA

● Intermediate / Advanced Excel

● Experience of managing large data sets

● Strong analytical skills, able to identify trends and patterns

● Excellent attention to detail

● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

● Self-motivated, with a positive attitude, and hands on approach to change
