We are delighted to offer an opportunity to adynamic and enthusiastic Project Lead to work within the Planning and Business Development Team supporting the transformation of services, working across organisational and professional boundaries to provide a joined-up health care and wellbeing system.

Main duties of the job

The post holder remit will be to:
  • Develop delivery plans that comprehensively cover all aspects of the given projects.
  • Undertake evaluations/reviews of existing pathways/services to identify gaps in performance and opportunities for improvement.
  • Write compelling business cases/bids/plans to support the transformation/redesign of specific pathways/services.
  • Deploy technical PMO tools and prepare documents to show delivery progress, flag risks/ issues, outcomes achieved.
  • Communicate and provide highly complex information to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Nurture key relationships and maintain networks internally and externally.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Key Responsibilities and Result Areas:
  • To provide leadership and management of the Crisis and Urgent Care project area
  • Manage the delivery of the Crisis and Urgent Care project of work
  • Manage any staff and resources where required for programme delivery
  • Ensure that programme deliverables remain tightly linked to the achievement of the Trust's strategic objectives and the ICS Mental Health Collaborative
  • Monitors progress of Crisis and Urgent Care project against agreed KPIs within or across areas
  • Manage risks to ensure successful outcome and resolve any issues and initiate corrective action where required
  • Drives delivery and pace of Crisis and Urgent Care project within remit
  • Ensures effectivegovernance, quality assuranceand the overall integrity of the Crisis and Urgent Care project programme - focusing inwardly on the internal consistency of the programme, and outwardly on its coherence with infrastructure planning, interfaces with other programmes and corporate, technical and specialist standards
  • Ensures training, guidance and support is in place to ensure the programme delivers the required changes.
  • Reports the progress of the programme at regular intervals to the Pathway Lead for Crisis and Urgent Care services, governance groups e.g. Clinical Transformation Board, and NHSE/I where required.
  • Promotes the Crisis and Urgent Care project encouraging participation from staff and stakeholders
  • Oversees the Crisis and Urgent Care project's budget on behalf of the SRO, monitoring expenditure and costs against delivered and realised benefits as the programme progresses
  • Leads the appointment of individuals tothe Crisis and Urgent Care project delivery team as required
  • Ensures delivery of Crisis and Urgent Care project is to the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the programme plan and programme governance arrangements
  • Ensures there is allocation of resources and skills within the programme's individual tasks
  • Manages third party contributions to the programme where applicable
  • Managescommunicationswith stakeholders, within the framework of the comms strategy/plan

Person specification

Shortlisting Criteria
Essential criteria
  • Educated to Degree level and Postgraduate level qualification in e.g. business / management / change or another relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in a specialist area
  • Qualification or equivalent experience in Programme and Project Management methodologies such as PRINCE2 (Practitioner level) and Managing Successful Programmes (MSP)
  • Significant relevant project management and improvement experience, with a track record of delivery
  • Experience within senior operational or project roles, ideally within the NHS
  • Experience of complex stakeholder management
  • Experience of reporting programme progress to Programme/Project Boards
  • Experience of applying quality improvement and programme management skills across multi-provider pathway
  • Experience of managing a team without direct line management
  • Experience of creating and giving presentations to a varied group of internal and external stakeholders
  • Managing and updating programme records, risk registers, trackers, project plans and documentation
  • Confident with Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel, Visio and MS Project

Desirable criteria
  • Experience of continuing professional development and other significant training and experience in a workplace setting
