Animal Management Technician (Bank)

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for dedicated animal care technicians to join our animal management team on a flexible bank basis. Our established and wide ranging collection of exotic, small and large animal species is the hub of the College’s thriving animal management provision with students on courses ranging from Level 1 to BSc (Hons). The animal care technician will maintain the excellent welfare and husbandry in the Animal Management Centre, as well as assisting in the preparation for practical lessons and supervising students during weekday practical husbandry sessions. This is a casual role covering weekends and week day shifts to help with peaks in workload and during times of annual leave of other team members.

The ideal candidate will have experience of animal welfare and husbandry and will hold an animal care qualification. They will also need to be organised, hardworking and a confident team player who is adaptable and happy to take initiative. Ideally you have experience with a wide range of exotic and companion species. Due to the flexible nature of this role, successful candidates must be willing to undertake weekend and bank holiday working.

At Plumpton College we are Ambitious & Progressive, Enterprising, Professional, Supportive and Passionate about everything we do – if you share these values and would like to be part of our growing team then we’d like to hear from you.

Rates of pay offered will be between £9.23 - £10.40 per hour depending on experience (plus holiday pay) and the college also offers access to an Employee Assistance Programme, free on-site gym and staff discounts.

Closing date for applications: 28th January 2022

We reserve the right to call candidates to interview or withdraw this vacancy at any time if there is a good level of response. Therefore, we recommend you submit your application as soon as possible.
