‘Rewrite the Story’ and become a voluntary Enterprise Adviser

Have you got a passion for supporting education, and helping to shape careers provision and opportunities for a local school or college in East Sussex and their young people? If so, a role as a voluntary Enterprise Adviser with the Careers Enterprise Company and East Sussex Careers Hub may be for you!

Working with a local school or college, your role as an Enterprise Adviser can help support pathways into your industry and shape young people's futures. You can help bridge the gap between the world of work and education, working with the Careers Leader and wider senior leaders of the school or college to create opportunities for young people.

Here in the East Sussex Careers Hub team, we are already supporting over 30 Enterprise Advisers across our mainstream and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) schools and colleges across the East Sussex County Council area, but have vacancies available with local College, secondary and SEND schools. You would be matched to a school or college, with your full agreement and support, and which best suits you, your location, skills and objectives.

You would receive access to training, CPD and networking events, and ongoing support from your Enterprise Coordinator throughout the role. There is no set expectation upon how many hours you commit to the role, but on average our Enterprise Advisers volunteer for half to one day (4 - 8 hours) per month, and a requirement of the role would be to undergo a criminal record DBS check prior to starting (no charge).

  • Dedicated to making a lasting impact on the future outcomes of young people.
