Time-Lapse Camera Operative

Please note, this position is for an Installation and Maintenance Operative. It is best suited to those seeking a manual type job largely outside. The position would not suit those seeking a career purely in photography, video editing or film making.

Site-Eye is the UK’s leading supplier of time lapse filming for the construction and media industries with cameras filming the progress of major projects at locations across London, the UK and overseas. We currently have a vacancy for a Time-lapse Camera Operative whose role it will be to install and maintain our computerised camera systems. We welcome applications from those with experience in such areas as networking, telecoms, CCTV type work.

The majority of our clients are within the construction industry. The role requires working at heights, primarily outdoors, to fix equipment in place, laying cables and configuring networks between the computerised cameras. During your initial period with us, you will work alongside our technicians while gaining experience. You will need to access roof tops and operate hand tools to fasten brackets and filming equipment to roofs and walls. You will also be required to configure computer networks and diagnose problems. Once confident in the role, you will be expected to work independently and in partnership with other team members primarily in London and surrounding areas but with opportunity to travel throughout the UK and overseas if desired.

Our cameras are positioned high up on buildings and require access via cherry pickers, scissor lifts or tall vertical ladders. Camera locations may be around 20 stories high. It is for this reason that an ability to work at heights and the requirement to follow strict safety regulations is vital. The role requires physical fitness to carry equipment and climb to a variety of camera locations.

Health and Safety plays an important role in the work we do, and staff must attend half and one day training courses to equip them in these areas. Courses include CSCS, Harness training, Asbestos Awareness training and operation of MEWPs such as cherry pickers and scissor lifts. These half and full day courses must be passed in order for the attendee to qualify.
