Job overview

The Medical Student Programme Manager will oversee the administration and delivery of the medical undergraduate placements in psychiatry at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. This role ensures that placements and the student experience are of the highest quality in line with the requirements and standards of Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) and those of the General Medical Council (GMC).

The quality and management of undergraduate placements is crucial to ensuring medical students receive an excellent learning experience during their psychiatry placements. We aim for each student to be proud of their achievements during their psychiatry placement at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SPFT).

Main duties of the job

The postholder will be supported by a 1WTE B4 undergraduate placement coordinator who is already in post.

Working for our organisation

The postholder will be expected to conduct educational audits, synthesise student feedback, and track placements to ensure high-quality, safe and effective student learning environments. Ideally, the post holder will have experience in education management, be competent with information technology, be self-directed, and be capable of independent working. Integral to all of this is the ability to communicate effectively - adopting the Trust's values with sensitivity and compassion, and to manage relationships with people.

To protect the health and safety of our staff/workers, patients, and those attending our sites, we encourage our workforce to get fully vaccinated against COVID
