SMC Administrator

Sussex Mindfulness Centre (SMC) (https://sussexmindfulnesscentre.nhs.uk/), part of Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, was founded in 2011 and is now one of the leading mindfulness centres in the UK. It stands out through its synergistic development of high-level research, high-quality trainings and the delivery of mindfulness based approaches within the NHS. It provides two mindfulness-based trainings locally, leads a national training in IAPT services and is the UK host for Mindful Self-Compassion teacher trainings. Its 61 mindfulness-trained staff provide mindfulness interventions to most clinical populations, NHS staff and the community.

This post holder will provide a high quality administrative service to the SMC team and work closely with the Administration Manager. They will be an experienced administrator with a sound knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and experience of maintaining spreadsheets, databases and other office systems. They will have excellent organisational and communication skills and be able to plan their own workload. They will be able to work within the unique culture and values of the NHS and fit into the SMC team of mindfulness researchers, trainers, teachers, administrators, interns and assistants who work in a friendly, mutually respectful and collaborative way. This post is currently home working.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support specific members of the team with SMC administrative practices and procedures, and must be able to communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
