Brighton College is seeking to appoint a full time Health Care Assistant, to start in September 2022.

This is a responsible position within Brighton College and as such the College is seeking an enthusiastic, proactive person with a background in health care.

 

Job responsibilities:

  • Providing first aid to pupils and staff and completing online accident report forms, liaising with guardians when necessary and updating iSAMS
  • Looking after sick pupils and contacting relevant guardians to collect them from school
  • Being the point of contact for health care needs regarding pupils and staff across Prep & Pre-prep sites
  • Undertaking routine tasks related to a busy school environment such as checking and restocking first aid kits, and keeping necessary written records
  • Establishing professional working relationships with senior staff working across all sites communicating with them daily
  • Liaising with our Health Centre staff to deliver the best care for our pupils, staff and visitors
  • Assisting the Head & Deputy Head of Health Centre to deliver a kind and caring service
  • Assisting with vaccination programmes when necessary

 

Safeguarding responsibilities:

  • This role will involve daily contact with pupils and you will be engaging in regulated activity relevant to children
  • All staff and volunteers have a responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people for who you are responsible and with whom you come into contact

 

Hours of work:

  • 37.5 hours per week, working 09.30 – 5.30 Monday -Friday inclusive, with a 30-minute unpaid lunchbreak
  • This role is a term time only contract (35 weeks per year)
  • Due to the nature of this work, the successful candidate will be required to work on-site full time

There has also been major investment in new facilities over the last ten years. This has seen the construction of five major buildings on the main site, including the new £55m School of Science and Sport which opened in January 2020, which includes eighteen state-of-the-art laboratories alongside a new sports hall, 25-metre swimming pool, fitness centre and roof-top running track. Other recent additions include two new boarding houses, a state-of-the-art Music School and the Yeoh Building, a teaching building which includes 22 classrooms for maths, history, economics, politics and EAL, alongside an innovative Creative Learning Centre, opened in 2017.
