Based at our Broadwater campus
Term-time working for 37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year.
Northbrook College have an opportunity for a learner mentor to join the 14-16 Freshstart team.
Freshstart aims to deliver a dynamic and exciting programme to pre-16 (year 10 and 11) students to re-engage them back into education. The students have a range of individual support needs including emotional and behavioural challenges. Some students are disengaged and disinterested in education and find a college environment more appropriate for their educational needs.
The area delivers a range of core subjects including English, Maths, PSE and ICT.
The successful candidate will be creative, experienced and passionate about working with challenging young people and have the ability to engage and encourage students to participate.
A qualification at level 3 or have and relevant experience is vital for this and you will need English and maths at level 2. If you do not have a teaching qualification already, a willingness to gain one is essential.
