Based at our Broadwater campus, Worthing.

37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to support in the leadership of the newly created area of Business, Travel & Tourism, Hair & Beauty and Early Years. We are seeking a highly motivated and forward-thinking individual who will work alongside the Head of Learning. Whilst working with an experienced management group you will have the opportunity to work with the curriculum teams to shape curriculum and inform teaching and learning practices as well as work with staff and students in both a strategic and operational capacity.

We are looking for a dynamic and conscientious individual with a commitment to achieving the very best outcomes for our learners. Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt and support change that allows the department to excel is key.

The department delivers a broad curriculum offer ranging from level 1,2 and 3 vocational programmes and apprenticeships in Early Years. In 2023 we will deliver T-levels in Early Years. The departments’ curriculum is designed to support the local and regional workforce, preparing learners for further study or employment across Service Industries and Early Years sectors.

The Deputy Head of Learning will be required:

  • To undertake teaching, learning and assessment activities in the curriculum area, ensuring a high quality of provision, in response to learners’ needs.
  • To work collaboratively and innovatively with staff to design, develop, manage and review programmes in the curriculum area, including FE, work based and commercial provision.
  • To ensure that student needs are met in a responsive way, in line with the concept of inclusive learning.
  • To support new and existing staff to improve the quality of teaching, learning and assessment and associated processes.
  • To deputise for the Head of Learning in leading the curriculum area to maintain outstanding success.

We welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds teaching Business, Travel and Tourism, Hair & Beauty and Early Years. You should be confident in your ability to lead others and committed to excellence in teaching, learning, and training.
