Description
An exciting opportunity has opened within B&CE as a Marketing Copywriter. We are looking for a passionate, creative and driven individual to join the marketing team. With the company predicted to grow significantly over the next 3-5 years this is an optimal time to join the marketing department and play a key role in brand strategy, positioning, cohesion and effectiveness.
The successful individual will deliver excellence in marketing communications by providing specialist copywriting services and advice within the Marketing Department and around the organisation in line with brand guidelines, technical requirements, team processes, internal policies, agreed standards, legislation and regulation. The Marketing Copywriter will also produce, update, review and approve quality, compelling, compliant and creative marketing content across all channels, products and customer groups.
An advocate of the importance of words in successful marketing, the Marketing Copywriter works with colleagues to demonstrate the value of good writing to meet customer needs and contribute to the growth and development of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creates, reviews and as required approves marketing content that is accurate, consistent, compelling, creative and compliant
- Ensures content is on-brand and consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice; is an exemplar of best practices in grammar, language and editorial guidelines
- Provides advice and constructive challenge when needed on a brief and the best way to meet it
- Works with the rest of the Marketing Communications team to review, implement and suggest any changes to guidelines for how the brand is expressed in writing
- Uses and inputs into reviews of agreed processes, systems and SLAs for receiving briefs, managing reviews and securing approvals
- Ensures all work is fit for purpose including in-situ
- Ensures all work is accurately version controlled and captured within the agreed facility for storing and managing all marketing communications content and assets
- Suggests when using external agencies and contractors could add value and manages the relationships with them as required
- Works with the Marketing Operations team to monitor customer experience and feedback; identifies and implements agreed changes resulting from insight and analytics
- Tracks and captures SLAs, KPIs and metrics for their work
- Helps to design and deliver testing as needed
- Demonstrates continuous improvement in quality and cost control for all their activities
- Engages with colleagues around the business to help identify business requirements for copywriting delivery and advice
- Uses agreed tools, systems and techniques and suggests improvements to meet business needs and deliver good customer outcomes
- Keeps up to date and complies with all relevant systems, legislation, regulation and policies
What we need from the successful applicant:
- Experience of writing creative, compelling technical and promotional content
- Experience of quality control of copy content
- Experience of internal stakeholder engagement and supplier relationship management
- Knowledge of current best practice in promotional and technical customer communications
- Knowledge of writing for offline and digital channels
- Experience of compliance with regulatory, brand and editorial guidelines
- Experience of briefing, review and approval processes and systems
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Recent track record in creating and reviewing impactful B2B and B2C copy
- A passion for brand and house style
- Ability to work on multiple pieces of work at the same time
You’re even more suitable if you have:
- Any qualifications that relate to the Pensions industry or Financial Services
- Have a degree in marketing or another relevant subject
- Experience of writing for multiple products / services
- Experience of reviewing and approving copy
- Experience of marketing communications for UK financial services
- Good knowledge of pension and occupational health systems
- Experience of investment communications
