Student Support Workers (BSL)


Pay range £20.00 to £23.00 per hour.

Pay level dependent on qualification and experience.

We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and experienced SSWs to work sessionally and to act as Bank staff.  The role will involve supporting learners at the school and when they are attending local colleges.

Candidates should be flexible and adaptable with the ability to work across multi-site locations if required.

You will need to have a good knowledge of current IT products with strong communication and organisational skills.

You should have at least British Sign Language Level 3 or equivalent as assessed at interview.

Hamilton Lodge is a Special School and College for Deaf Children with many pupils being week day boarders.

Our students come from across the south and as far afield as Manchester.

We are in Brighton within a ten minute walk to the sea in one direction, and the new South Downs National Park in another.

We have excellent bus links to the train station and city centre.We cater for pupils from 5 to 19 years old and have a Child Centred Approach to communication using English and British Sign Language.
