Community Staff Nurse - 37.5 per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our multidisciplinary community team as a Community Staff Nurse based in Lewes within the Lewes PCN community nursing team . The role is support the team in the day time and or the twilight hours - 8am to 10pm

The Lewes is based 5 minutes from the vibrant town centre which is known for its shopping and restaurants and gorgeous countryside.

We are proud of the quality holistic care we provide to the population of Lewes and our focus on self-management with patients using a proactive approach. The team work closely with a multidisciplinary network of health, social, and third sector staff including Specialist Nurses, hospitals, hospices and GP surgeries.

Main duties of the job

This post is ideal for somebody who would like the opportunity to experience community work or develop their interests in the community setting further. The role incorporates the day to day management of patients within the community under the supervision of the Community Sisters and charge nurses and Clinical Lead, involving a variety of skills including wound care, continence management, palliative care, health promotion, venepuncture and more. Training will be available and candidates will be supported with an induction and a personal development plan. Full support will be given to those without community experience to gain the necessary skills required. We would also welcome newly qualified nurses who will be fully supported with preceptorship. the hours are between 8am until 10pm and can be agreed within these hours to support.

We are a supportive and forward-thinking team with clinical direction provided by a Clinical Lead, overseen by the Operational Team Lead and Clinical Service Manager for the PCN community Teams

You must be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team. The team use SystmOne mobile working. You must hold a full driving licence and have the use of a car for work purposes.

Registration
Essential criteria

• Registered nursing Part 1(Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council)

Desirable criteria

• 1 year post reg
• Experience of community nursing
