Referrals Administrator - 37.5 hours per week

Are you are an experienced and hard-working Administrator competent in the use of Excel, Outlook and SystmOne? We are looking for an individual with excellent administrative and communication skills to work in our busy Referral Management Hub in Brighton and Hove.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will primarily support the clinical staff with the completion of triage information, gathering further information as required. They will use Excel spreadsheets and register patients on SystmOne, and support in taking telephone calls from GPs, patients and other outside organisations that wish to make a referral. This is a dynamic and busy environment and you will need to be able to deal with conflicting demands.

The successful candidate will be someone who enjoys working in a team, and who can demonstrate excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under their own initiative as directed. You will need to be able to work under pressure, follow instructions, and complete tasks as scheduled.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
  • General standard of education to GCSE level or equivalent
  • RSA 3 or equivalent knowledge through experience


Desirable criteria
  • ECDL Certificate
  • Audio Typing


Experience
Essential criteria
  • At least one years relevant administrative experience within last 3 years
  • Experience of typing and producing documents - letter and reports
  • Experience of development and management of filing systems
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting


Desirable criteria
  • Experience of Data Inputting, databases and spreadsheets
  • Ordering supplies and maintaining stock


Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria
  • Be able to produce Excel documents to high standard
  • Good standard of organisational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively by telephone and face to face with patients and professionals
  • Good standard of interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be self directed and work alone, to manage own workloads and work to deadlines
  • Maintain confidentiality and deal with sensitive information
