Are you looking for a new challenge and are passionate about providing excellent patient-centred rehabilitation. We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our inpatient therapy team.

Main duties of the job

Some of your main duties will include:
  • Forming a professional judgement of an individual's health condition.
  • Recognising changes in a patient's condition and seek assistance from a registered nurse as appropriate,
  • Delivering a high standard of clinical and therapeutic care to a caseload of patients within set guidelines and within the role and competence of the individual assistant practitioner.
  • Performing and recording clinical observations appropriate to the clinical area as per competency achievement.
  • Planning and implementing straightforward tasks and work guided by standard operating procedures and protocols.
  • Monitoring and evaluating individualised care plans

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
This is an exciting role with a great deal of patient contact with the opportunity to consolidate and increase your skills and knowledge

You will work under the direct supervision of senior therapists but have the autonomy to manage a caseload through the rehabilitation process from assessment to discharge.

You will need to have experience working in general rehabilitation and frailty with knowledge of Occupational/Physiotherapy assessments and interventions.

You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be flexible to support colleagues providing an excellent service for our inpatients including weekend cover and cross site working.

A willingness to learn is essential and there will be learning and training opportunities available to develop your skills.

Qalifications
Essential criteria
  • GCSE Grades A* - C Maths and English or equivalent
  • Foundation degree in Health and Social Care


Experience
Essential criteria
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a clinical support worker role
  • Experience of communicating with people from a wide and different background
  • Experience of caring for patients within a bedded unit


Desirable criteria
  • Patient assessment skills

Essential criteria
  • Effective communicator
  • Ability to work with a range of professionals
  • Evidence of problem solving and using initiative
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Competent in taking baseline observations
  • Self-motivated but able to work under supervision
