Permanent, full time or part time, term time only
We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and dedicated team member, who is able to work with initiative in a fast moving and demanding environment, within our busy catering team. You will be responsible for hot and cold food preparation, taking both card and cash payments, serving customers, and cleaning within all areas of the kitchen.
The successful candidate will report to the Catering manager, and work alongside three other Catering Assistants and the Kitchen Porter.
There will be opportunities for you to undertake individual training and development, which is encouraged through the college induction and staff development programmes.
This is a permanent post, working 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (during term time, September to July), however there is also the option to split this full-time position into two separate part-time roles.
If you wish to apply for a part-time position, please detail in your application the number of days/hours per week you are interested in working. We would then consider your application alongside other applicants looking for part-time work, to consider if two part-time roles could fit together.
The start and finish times for the full-time position are 7:00 to 15:00 Monday to Thursday and 7:00 to 14:30 on a Friday, which includes a half hour unpaid lunch break each day.
You will be entitled to 5.6 weeks of holiday pay per year, which is paid in addition to your contracted 39 weeks. 5.2 weeks of holiday pay is included in your salary in twelve equal payments and an additional 0.4 weeks holiday pay will be paid to you in the December payroll each year.
The actual salary for the full-time, term-time only post is £15,804 per annum, which includes 5.2 weeks of holiday pay. This is based on spine point 3 within grade 1 of the support staff pay spine, for which the full-time salary is £18,593 per annum. This will increase annually up to £16,428 (based on a full-time salary of £19,328) subject to satisfactory performance. This salary will be pro-rata based on your FTE for a part-time role.
