The Transport Engineering Technicians work as part of a team completing planned, preventative and corrective maintenance on the systems and assets relating to the Transport Engineering department in a safe and timely manner, proactively seeking opportunities for improvements to safety, availability, or reduce tool time and running costs.

  • Use GAL I.T. – Work Management Systems (e.g. Ultimo) as required. Receive & close work orders, enter data accurately and use system data to drive individual and asset performance.
  • Ensure all engineering and operational records are updated to meet business, regulatory and manufacturer requirements.

  • Work with and support others (Senior Technicians/Technicians & Apprentices) on a 1:1 basis and as part of a team.  Where-ever possible, provide guidance and learning to improve other's skills or knowledge.
  • Develop your own skills and knowledge to maintain and operate existing and new assets to ensure they are maintained in a manner which keeps them performing at the required level.
  • Support the Engineering Manager's to conduct the TPDR process with the team by providing feedback on the team's performance both in terms of ‘what' they do and ‘how' they do it.
