Job overview

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual, who enjoy challenges, to join our team at the Hellingly Centre, a secure mental health unit near Hailsham. You will be working as an administrator for the Forensic Healthcare Services where you will use your skills to support highly-skilled and dedicated clinical staff from a multitude of backgrounds including; doctors, nurses, pharmacists, therapists, and social workers, to help ensure that we continue to provide excellent patient-focused care.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person who is:
  • Organised;
  • Has sound IT/administration skills (Word, Excel, PPT);
  • Works well in a team;
  • Has excellent communication skills;
  • Has good interpersonal skills and is able to work in a confidential and sensitive manner.

Main duties of the job

To provide a comprehensive range of secretarial and administrative support to a multi- disciplinary team of practitioners.

To undertake responsibility for the day to day management of the administrative, clerical and secretarial functions associated with a multi-disciplinary team. This includes working and acting on own initiative and dealing with potentially complex situations.

To consistently deliver a client focussed service, which promotes good customer service and effective working relationships.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Team PA will help coordinate an administrative team, including supporting the multi- disciplinary team with projects and gathering information. They will have daily liaison with a wide range of staff at all levels and regular contact with people who use services and their carers, who may at times be distressed or angry.

The Team PA is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of the office environment for the multi-disciplinary team of practitioners.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
  • NVQ 3 in Business & Administration or evidenceof equivalent practical experience
  • RSA 3 or equivalent experience and evidence of further practical experience
  • Good standard of secondary education; GCSE at Grade C or above

Knowledge/Experience
Essential criteria
  • Extensive knowledge of a full range of secretarial procedures
  • Knowledge of software programmes / packages
  • Previous experience in a similar role

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
