We are recruiting Registered Nurses to join a dedicated and friendly team working in a rewarding area of healthcare making a real difference to local people living with a life-limiting illness. Martlets nurses provide person-centred holistic care in the hospice inpatient unit, spending time with patients and their family and friends giving them the care and support they need in the precious time they have left together.
Martlets Hospice benefits from being an independent charity allowing flexibility and creativity in the design and delivery of services whilst being firmly integrated with key local NHS providers. Care and support is delivered with integrity and quality.
As a relatively small organisation we are committed to developing the skills and interests of our staff to ensure the workforce is motivated and equipped to deliver what is expected of them in a compassionate and competent manner through formal training and workplace experience.
We are looking for nurses with excellent communication and team working skills, and range of clinical skills, a desire to develop their practice and make a positive impact on those they care for and support.
This role will suit experienced nurses who miss quality relationships with patient’s and to more recently qualified staff keen to develop their skills in a supported environment.
“I’ve worked here for ten years and I love it because there’s a sense of satisfaction having time and opportunities to give first class care to the patients and their families and every day is different.” - Martlets Nurse
In return, some of the benefits that we can offer to the successful candidates include, continuation of NHS Pension Scheme, for existing members of the NHS Pension Scheme and a commitment to learning and development.
In addition to the above salary, we also offer a range of company benefits. You can download a copy of Martlets Benefits Statement by clicking here.

Martlets is a charity that cares for people living through a terminal illness in and around Brighton and Hove.
We're much more than a hospice. Most of our patients are cared for in their own home.
Our team supports people to live their lives to the full, taking the time to give exceptional care. We're also here for their family and friends- bringing comfort, compassion and support when it matters most.
Thanks to the generosity of local people, our care is free for everyone who needs it. Although we're not part of the NHS, we work in close partnership with them.
