Aerodrome Operations Manager
Are you our next Aerodrome Operations Manager? We are looking for someone who can help us redefine what's possible for Aerodrome Department.

What is the role?
The Aerodrome Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the aerodrome, representation at forums & resilience ops. Acting as a daily communication point and subject matter expert for stakeholders to enable the operation of the aerodrome in accordance with Gatwick's aerodrome certification. Delivering a strategic plan, maximising safe airfield use and driving an efficient on time operation. The Aerodrome Operations Manager is also responsible for functional areas of the airfield team.
What will you do?
- Accountable for delivery of the shift-based teams, delivering high performance in technical standards and aircraft flow delivering industry leading On Time Performance.
- Ensure controller team execute operations in accordance with the Aerodrome Manual, applicable EASA/CAA regulations and key performance indicators.
- Act as Accountable Manager's delegate
- Ensure all standards, regulatory, legal and statute requirements are proactively met and adhered to accordingly, including compliance with Environment, Health and Safety, (EHS) and sustainable development policies within the Airfield Operations function.
- Accountable for leadership in times of disruption events, Liaising with ATC, GCC, AFS, third party operators, AAIB, Meteorological Offices, Airlines and Police during periods of adverse weather, equipment serviceability, incidents and emergencies and any other major disruption
Do you have what we're looking for?
- Experience of leading large operational teams in fast paced regulated environments
- Experienced leader within a safety focussed, service delivery organisation
- Sound commercial and financial experience and understanding
- Knowledge and experience of applying continuous improvement methodology
- Good knowledge and understanding of working with Unions and IR engagement
- Experienced in crisis management events, calmly leading a team through a structured approach.
