Job summary

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust delivers care to more than 9,000 children and adults across the county every single day. Our amazing clinical teams are supported by equally brilliant corporate services.

Fixed Term Contract until end of March 2024 (with the possibility of extension until March 2025). Will also consider as a secondment.

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust is investing in a Digital Transformation programme across all its services over the next two years, enhancing clinical software, delivering new hardware and software and optimising digital ways of working across the Trust.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced communications officer to design, create and deliver an engaging digital communications strategy to support this exciting transformation programme.

You will be part of a friendly and supportive digital team and able to engage effectively with staff at all levels, and be responsible for managing a targeted communications plan, keeping c5000 staff and external stakeholder up-to-date with the latest digital developments.

You will be able to identify communications opportunities that help us share our digital transformation messages across the wide range of channels available.

Main duties of the job

You'll be creative and have a passion for great communications and engagement - able to generate ideas and be known for your can do attitude.

You will develop , with support from the wider team, the Digital Transformation programme's communications strategy

You will co-ordinate the implementation of the strategy, and develop, manage, produce and distribute engaging and dynamic internal and external communication activities and products such as targeted email and social media campaigns, intranet updates, communication cascades, weekly email bulletins, bi-monthly staff magazine updates etc. in a co-ordinated approach with the central Communications team

You will be expected to establish trust and good relationships with teams across the organisation to keep all staff up-to-date with digital implementation plans.

You'll be skilled across all the varied communications disciplines and know how to find and write compelling communications, and you'll be able to turn complex information into clear, accessible and helpful messages for the people who need them.

You'll be comfortable in the digital environment, with experience of managing an intranet and internet, document management and keeping up to date with technology to help deliver engaging messages.

Occasional travel across Sussex is required when service support requires this, and you should have the ability to travel to and reach any of our sites.
