Job summary Fixed term contract/Secondment - Band 7 RM NURSE- CAMHS Eating Disorder Intensive treatment Day Service for 2 days per week -

Exciting new opportunity in Brighton & Hove, Sussex

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation trust is looking to recruit a passionate, knowledgeable and dynamic senior nurse to join our new CAMHS Eating Disorder Day service.

We have recently received new substantive funding to set up this service. It will be located at a newly refurbished Aldrington House (Hove). The clinical model is in development and will be based on the highly acclaimed Maudsley Intensive Treatment programme. The service will have capacity to support 10 young people each day. Key service aims include:
  • Supporting young people and families through a comprehensive 14 week group programme, entailing family therapy, CBT based groups, life skills and supported eating.
  • Prevention of need for an inpatient admission thereby allowing young people to be treated closer to home

You would be part of a brand-new MDT, consisting of Nursing, Psychology, Dietician, Support Workers, Medics and Occupational Therapists.

Knowledge of Eating Disorders and CAMHS is essential. Our selection process will be based upon experience and values

Main duties of the job The successful candidate would be responsible for leading the day to day coordination of the unit as well as providing specialist nursing assessment, formulation and care planning. All members of the MDT will be trained in the Maudsley model of Family Therapy and form part of a care team delivering this intervention. There will also be one to one work with young people

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing individual and groupwork and willprovide supervision and professional support to relevant colleagues. You will support service development through service evaluation and audit, as well as bringing new insights through research and keeping up to date with developments in the field.

Ideally you will have prior experience of working with eating disorders and experience of using therapeutic models associated with this client group.
