Job summary Here at Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust, we are looking to appoint a Deputy Chief Nursing Officer to support the Chief Nursing Officer in leading Nursing and Quality, alongside multi-professional colleagues. This is a really exciting time to be joining us! We have a new Chief Nursing Officer joining in January, and an established group of experienced and committed clinicians and leaders; all determined to achieve our vision to improve the quality of life for the communities we serve; focused around people, prevention and partnerships.

We would welcome informal calls to discuss this role. Please contact Theresa Barker on Teresa.Barker@spft.nhs.uk

Proposed date of interview will be 10th March 2023.

Main duties of the job You will be a highly experienced RMN or RNLD with proven skills and demonstrable patient centred outcomes in senior positions in healthcare. Your values will align with those of our organisation, and you will have an unwavering commitment to ensuring high quality care. As we move our operating model to place, and with the key aims of integrated care systems in mind, you will help launch and lead us to achieve sustainable successful health outcomes through our refreshed Nursing Strategy. Underpinned by principles of a just and learning culture and Quality Improvement methodology, transformation is at the heart of this role. You will work closely with all stakeholders to transform how we address recruitment and retention, and you will lead the patient safety team to transform our investigation processes to align with the new Patient Safety Incident Response Framework. You will take a lead in safe staffing and reducing restrictive practices agendas, and you will support the CNO in leading the CQC regulatory registration and standards. You will deputise for the CNO across a range of functions and meetings, and during periods of leave. Whilst a vast range of senior experience and transferrable skills are expected of applicants for this role, you can expect high levels of support and opportunities to continue to progress. Your wellbeing is critical in ensuring that you are able to bring your very best self to work, and so flexibility in how you deliver the role can be discussed. About us We provide mental health and learning disability care for children, young people and adults across Sussex and for children and young people in Hampshire. Working in Sussex:
