Female - Senior Child Care Officer   

Pay level – NJC 22-28 £29,439-£34,723 (pro-rata)

40 hours per week term time only.

Sleep in allowance will be paid.

Hamilton Lodge is a special residential through school for learners from 5 to 19 years of age with significant expertise in meeting an identified primary need of Deafness (Mild, Moderate, Severe or Profound).

Situated in the heart of Brighton, our school has educated and cared for Deaf children for over 75 years. 

The successful applicant will be experienced at managing a team of staff working within a childcare setting. They will manage a girl’s boarding house with learners who are residential at the school Monday to Friday. They will provide a range of one-to-one support and group activities. They will be a member of the Care Management Team and be expected to lead on safeguarding and all other matters pertaining to their house. They will be expected to work within all the school policies and work effectively and proactively within a team and with other professionals within the school.

Their qualifications will include:

• NVQ or L3 Health and Social Care Children and Young People.
• L5 Health and Social Care Children very desirable but training could be offered for the right applicant.
• Education to a sufficient standard to support learners after school learning
• Level 3 BSL very desirable but training could be offered for the right applicant.
• Experience of working with young people with complex needs

Due to the nature the role we are only accepting applications from female candidates, aged 22 and over.

Sleeping in will be a requirement of this role and the salary will reflect this

Your willingness to enhance your British Sign Language is essential.
