Job Details
Job summary We are very excited to be offering this opportunity for a Consultant Practitioner Psychologist, or an aspiring principal psychologist. The post is a 12-month fixed term contract to cover a Consultant clinical psychologist whilst on maternity leave. The post will be based in Worthing, and covers Worthing, Littlehampton and Shoreham, providing professional leadership to the psychological therapists based in the three community adult mental health teams within this area. To protect the health and safety of our staff/workers, patients, and those attending our sites, we encourage our workforce to get fully vaccinated against COVID.
Main duties of the job The post-holder will contribute clinically to the service, and ideally have particular expertise in the area of Complex Emotional Needs (CED). There will be a focus on providing consultation, supervision and clinical reviews of complex cases. We also anticipate that Psychologists working at this level will share their specialist skills and interests across West Sussex and contribute to service developments across our services as appropriate. The main duties of the post holder are to provide professional leadership for the psychological therapists in this area; and secondly to contribute to the West Sussex wide pathway development work in Complex Emotional Needs.
About us The post-holder will work as part of a supportive multi-professional leadership and governance team to contribute strategically and operationally to the leadership, governance and development of the broader MDT service as well as the Psychology service. Like other community services we are in the midst of transforming our community mental health services, and this is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to this process and help us ensure excellence for our service users. We have a thriving group treatment service in this area, and have also led the way in the trust with pilot initiatives on the CEN pathway, particularly in the delivery of Structured Clinical Management. If you have expertise in this area this would be an ideal post for you.
