Job summary

This is a great opportunity to come and join our Professional team of Nurse & Paramedic Practitioners working across all 3 East Sussex Urgent Care Units including Crowborough & Uckfield Minor Injury Units & Lewes Urgent Treatment Centre. We deliver urgent care to more than 100 patients a day who have either injuries or minor illness.

We need Registered Nurses or Paramedics with a post registration Practitioner qualification & experience in Urgent Care & who are able to work autonomously, adapt to a fast paced, progressive service & provide excellent clinical care to their patients.

In return you will work in a supportive environment, have the opportunity to develop your Practice and deliver care to patients who truly appreciate the service they can access close to home & for a Trust committed to supporting staff & their well-being.

Main duties of the job

This role covers the Sussex Community Foundation Trust Urgent Care Units. The post holder will work within local, national & NICE guidelines to triage, assess, and treat patients attending the Units. NHSE is continuing to lead on the transformation of a variety of services into Urgent Treatment Centres although currently our Minor Injury Units remain. The post holder will provide assessments for patients presenting to the Units with either an injury or illness. This means that an existing qualification is required in either illness or injury and the agreement to study and achieve accreditation in both will need to be completed for this post.

This post involves both sound, autonomous clinical assessment & treatment skills & the knowledge of where to re-direct inappropriate attendances, ensuring patients are transferred safely according to their presenting condition. The Post holder will be integral to the team and contribute to the overall running of the Units which includes the management of other staff working within the Unit, support with education or training needs and daily supervision.
