What you’ll be doing:

You will become one of our amazing trail-grazers. You will be a key ambassador of the trail, welcoming visitors, providing information about the sculptures and signposting key destinations on our trail map.

As a trail-grazer you’ll also:

• support visitors to download our App
• talk about Martlets and the services we provide
• help with ‘Shaun selfies’
• check sculptures for signs of damage
• share visitor feedback

At times you may be asked to collect money for Martlets.

Where:  Various locations on the streets of central Brighton and Hove.

When:    From 9 September to 5 November 2023 every Thursday to Sunday and at special events during and after the course of the trail.

Expected commitment:

Our trail-grazers will be volunteering in pairs and be asked to complete a 4-hour shift from 11am until 3pm. Ideally, you will be able to commit to one session per week throughout the project. However, if you would like to offer more of your time there may be extra sessions available. You’ll also be asked to support at our events including our Shear Drop, Farewell Weekend and Auction.

Expectations:

We will offer full training, a snazzy uniform (t-shirt, fleece), tea and coffee and full support in your volunteering role. You will have reasonable travel expenses covered (by public transport into and out of the city) and you will be working in pairs with your safety and wellbeing our priority.

In return we expect punctuality, positivity, politeness and passion. Plus, good communication skills and a regular commitment to the role.
