In-House Print & Demo-room Supervisor

“We’re looking for a skilled print operator; a self-starter who can oversee the entire maintenance, operation and production output of our in-house print room.

Assisting in the preparation and delivery of customer machine demonstrations one day, maintaining quality operation and output of all our print and finishing machinery, and quality production of all in-house printing requirements, the next. – no two days will be the same.

This is an interesting and varied role, so if you are a can-do person and someone who likes to manage their own time to meet deadlines, we want  to hear from you!”

Who are we?

Papergraphics supplies quality media products, consumables, printers and finishing machinery to our digital large-format printing customers, as well as unrivalled technical services including advice, training and breakdown support.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Maintaining a clean, organised print room environment at all times, including regular maintenance and calibration of all print and finishing equipment
  • Artwork creation and file manipulation to achieve quality print output
  • Using RIP software to produce quality print and finishing output
  • Printing and finishing (laminating, cutting etc) of all in-house production requirements (could include testing of new products, fault-finding on existing products, marketing and sampling collateral, display and training material, plus various other ad-hoc project requirements.
  • Working with the Technical & Sales teams to host effective customer demonstrations
  • Working with the Returns team to deal with faulty products and provide testing information/ analysis, to assist with customer complaints/ supplier claims
  • Working with the Product development team to produce timely print testing of new products for performance analysis
  • Maintaining internal product knowledge regarding market & competitor info, client feedback, and updating our records and customer accounts, where appropriate

What skills/ experience are we looking for?

  • You’ll have proven experience in a high-quality print-operative role
  • We need someone with operating experience of some (or all!) of the below large-format print and finishing equipment and software(or similar):
  • HP Latex, Epson Eco-solvent, Canon aqueous, and Jetrix UVC large format printers (both flatbed & roll-2-roll)
  • Flexa formula & easy laminators
  • Summa and Flexa cutters
  • Application tables
  • Onyx or Caldera RIP software
  • We’d love you to be capable with the Adobe Creative suite and experienced in creating artwork or manipulating files to achieve high quality print output

What you’ll bring to the role…

  • You’re a positive, ‘can-do’ person who enjoys getting the job done
  • Good organisational skills are essential – with lots of projects/ tasks coming in and on-going, all to be completed in a timely manner
  • Quality assurance is also really important, so a keen eye for detail is a must!
  • You’re able to manage your own time well and work autonomously to get things done, but also can be a great team player when the task requires
