With around 100 staff based at our headquarters in Crawley, West Sussex we provide a complete range of services including design, site surveys, manufacture, installation, civil and electrical services, maintenance, spares, repair or refurbishment and full project management, all backed up by a fully comprehensive customer service programme. All our products are available with a wide range of control options and operating systems which are constantly evolving to meet our customer’s demands.   We work with many familiar companies from offices to banks, cash handling services and Government buildings.

With the global threat of terrorism increasing Frontier Pitts are growing to meet the needs of our customers with 40% of our equipment going overseas to more than 100 different countries. 

Due to continued growth and expansion, Frontier Pitts Ltd are now currently recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team.

Overview:

The role involves utilising AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor to produce quality mechanical designs within time and budget constraints. You will gain knowledge of drawing standards and how to “translate” design to manufacturing process. Also you will create accurate design calculations on welded steel structures.  Thus a willingness to get your hands dirty is essential.

Preferable Skills/Qualifications:

- 0-2 years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering
- Excellent computer literacy, using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, MS Excel
- Proficiency in both static and dynamic mechanical calculations performed on steel structures, including wind loadings

- Knowledge of the engineering design process and working to BSI ISO 9001
- An ability to think commercially as well as technically
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Authorised to work in the United Kingdom

Desired attributes:
- A basic level of computer programming (e.g. Inventor iLogic)

- Knowledge of using AutoCad 2D and Autodesk Inventor 3D programmes
- Experience using basic hand tools and participation in engineering related hobbies

- Ability to learn quickly

- Good eye for detail
