JOB PURPOSE

The role of the MOT Tester/Tyre Fitter is to:

è Undertake Class IV MOT tests to the government standards.

è To carry out fitting of tyres to manufacturer standards.

è To carry out such work in a safe and economical manner.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Undertaking Class IV MOT tests adhering to strict DVSA/Government guidelines
  • To ensure vehicle tyres are fitted to manufacturer specification and thoroughly examined with any problems reported to the Service/Aftersales Manager.
  • Maximise tyre and steering alignment sales opportunities.
  • Ensure all work is carried out observing safe working practices of self and others.
  • Ensure that workshop housekeeping standards are always maintained including the use of special and personal tools. 

Skills & Requirements

Essential

  • Hold the relevant MOT Tester qualification.
  • Manufacturer tyre fitting training
  • Relevant City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ accreditation
  • Good organisational and planning skills.
  • Competency in numeracy, literacy and IT.
  • Energy and enthusiasm.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Smart appearance.

Experience

Desirable

  • Relevant manufacturer experience.
